The Philippines copy is very cool. I must admit that i'm just a tiny little bit jealous.
I've never seen or heard about it either.
The matrix number 'UAS-9956-1 Re1 F' is the same and looks almost exactly identical (the way it's etched) to the US (GZ: 62-5) release. Could it be an US pressing where the Filippinos slapped a local label on top?
Anyway, I want one too!

In terms of sound quality, could somebody comment a bit what is written here?

http://www.lukpac.org/~handmade/patio/vinylvscds/200motels.html

I mean: it has been repeatedly discussed about CD being overcompressed or not.. and I tend to think that it wasn't so terrible, even if surely not perfect. What I find interesting is about UK vinyl copy: you guys that have it (I only have US and France), do you agree that its quality is better than the original US? Or is it true that master tapes are the real bottleneck and vinyl pressings don't make much difference?

13 200M ITA LIBERTY RECORDS 3C-154-92854 1981 S 2LP Grey Label: EMI ITALIANA S.p.A. / FOC: Side 1,2,3,4; stereomono / with track-separation/M: 28-7-81 / Ref. 62-2

My record store offers this in great condition for 30 Euro. Couldn't find any specific info about being pressed in 1981.

"track-seperation" means silence between the tracks/a seperation line?
http://www.lukpac.org/~handmade/patio/vinylvscds/200motels.html doesn't mention "track-seperation"

Any experiences with this issue?

The year info is in the matrices, 28-7-81 = 28 July 1981, the labels have the title in Italian, "Colonna sonare originale del film: 200 Motels"

Thanks, Bengt...can you tell something about the sound and the "track-seperation" yourself?

"track separation" means that you can clearly see where the tracks starts/ends, though there may not necessarily be any silence inbetween them.

The sound should be OK but I don't think I've ever played this very pressing Wink If you just want a vinyl copy and not seek out for all possible pressings, look for a pristine copy of the US version.

UK 8-Track Serial Number 8X 04020

I don't have much spare funds for collecting these days - but picked this up for a pittance a couple of months back.

The front label "sticker" that reads "DOUBLE LP TAPE Recommended retail price 3.75" is in fact not a sticker but is printed on the label.

The rear side - although pretty moth eaten, does clearly show the following text:
Liberty/UA Stereo-Tape. A Division of Liberty Records Ltd., Mortimer House, Mortimer Street, London, W.1
