Do you have any more info on the "Loew's" version (i.e. Maack or Linnepe, or one or two pockets)?

No i'm not sure, this info is just a shortcut from the Patio, see below, could easily be that you are right.

On my WOIIFTM First LP the matrixnumbers are written exacly the same as on the U.S. pressing. Even the "G" from MGS is exactly the same.
I'm pretty sure they used a original master.

My Loew's version Linnepe, one pocket

check out: http://home.concepts.nl/~hades/onlymoney.html

Another thing is that the matrixnumber is "P 1967 00 710012 A/B" while the record was issued in 1968?
And my German copies of FO, AF, LG, cwratj, mothermania all have the year in the matrixnumber.

Sorry for the long no-reply,was on heavy-duty last year Wink

I don't know if it exists, but it's listed in Torchum' #4. I'll mark it as non-verified.

Yeah, the matrixes on the TAI-issues seem to be genuine, i think it's a question (raised by the Patio) of the "overall legality"of these releases.

And about the Year in the matrix of German releases i dunno, that phenomen appears a lot, also in non-FZ releases......

So are there 2 editions of CDZAP 13, one UK and one FRA, or is the supposed to be from UK actually from FRA?

Theres a lot of confusion about the France/UK issue on many of the CDs.

The official UK releases in the 1990s were pressed in France as that is where there was a large pressing plant - but they were UK releases.
The very fact it says 'Made in France' (and not Fabriqué en France) means it is for the UK market.

I'd rather say they were for the European market, as those "Made in France" CD's was what was on sale here as well, and I've never seen any with "Fabriqué..."?

Sure - for the EU market - my point was that they are not specifically for the French market - if they were they would definately say Fabriqué en France (the French being so protective about their language).

If IRC all the Zappa Records CDs had a Belsize Lane London address on them but were still made in France despite being a UK release.

It may have been easier if they had all followed EMI's lead on the original DHBIM and just put 'Made in the EU' on them.

I think the issue is for us anal types is what should they be classified as ?

In the past with vinyl we've had the typical US, UK, CAN, JAP, GER etc sort of list. It would seem that really these releases should be classed as EU as the same disc was sold (afaik) all over Europe.
