Thanks for this... will be nice to have that album in its at one time intended form.

As far as DTS surround, I played around with turning the LA 84 show into a surround show with the SBD on the front, the audience at the back... I ran out of time but did a few songs and really it was magical. The Sharleena moment after Dweezil's solo when FZ comes in the crowd just goes wild and you feel you are in it... its just goose bumps all over.

There are a few other shows with SBDs and good audience tapes as well that could have the treatment. The hardest part is getting them to match pitch and tempo... though all the people who matrix shows seem to have that issue worked out really well (I am crap at it). After that I found blending a little of the audience into the fronts, say 15% improved the spatial effect and some EQ can be pulled out for the sub.

Hopefully someone with too much time on their hands can give it a go!! Smile

Thanks for the re-mastering effort on these tracks,
and for the detailed informations added in the initial post.

One problem I'm having with these tracks though is their pitch level,
all of this recording sounds to me like it's running too slow.
I'm having a hard time imagining that when editing track 4 (BTM extract) into the officially released Billy The Mountain as suggested in the editing instructions as posted,
one wouldn't hear immediately a pitch change during the edit points between official track and insert. Does it mean that the tracks on the JABFLA album are also running too slow as they do here ?

Suggested speed corrections on these tracks as seeded here:

1. Studebaker Hoch~Billy The Mountain Pt.2 [RM] 13:57 +40cts
2. The Subcutaneous Peril (1970-10-11) [RM] 5:19 +40cts
3. An Easy Substitute For Eternity Itself (1970-10-11) [RM] 20:23 +50cts
4. Billy The Mountain (extract) 8:51 +40cts

Subcutaneous Peril sounds like a solo to Pound For A Brown,
Easy Substitute should be part of an extended King Kong Suite.

Date typo - correct year for tracks 2 and 3 is 1971 (as mentioned in the OP), not 1970.

From a very quick check it seems the JBFLA album runs at proper pitch.

Thanks for your speed corrections again!!

Yes thanks Flambay. Working on the WPIX, the last stereo track of 1979 11 19 is cut, well fades out. Since the transition is so harsh from stereo to mono, I overlapped to have the stereo slowly fade out, wow, pitch pefect from independant corrections. No problem with the overlap. It sounds as best possible. In general I know it always doesn't sound as good as you would think, here it does. I suck at patching, and I left the live mteril for Flambay to do, we are not going to spend a lot of time repairing commercial music that sucks compared to the release anyway. It was suggested I don't even patch that material, but I did anyway.
I wanted to mention this as both tracks were corrected but no way would flambay know I needed to patch these together, and the pitch is so right on it's perfect, and testiment to your skill, job well done!

I downloaded this - thank you very much for the opportunity!

generally speaking, how about not seeding anything until it goes through proper Zappateers ISO type standards - lets call it - ISO 122140 - or FZ Sigma 122140

i suppose that might discourage some from seeding tho

Thanks for your work Craymcla. This looks great. I had no idea that JABFLA was originally intended as a double album.

I have to say that I didn't notice any speed problems when I created this. Your since of pitch, flambay, must be pretty accute. Smile I still don't notice any problem in casual listening, so it must be pretty a pretty minute difference. I've compared the two against my guitar (I've been a musician for 40 years now) and still can find any noticable difference at the transition points. Correct speed is pretty important to me and I *can* hear pitch differences, but clearly not as well as you. Sad Unfortunately, my software (Audition) only deals in percentages for speed changes, not cents, so I can't translate your measurements into meaningful numbers for my system.

I'm new to this particular tracker, but since this was based on something already posted here I didn't see a need go through the samples forum first. But I'm open to any suggestons for the future. Feel free to PM me.
