well, any idea? share, share your most insulted thoughts.
i think i have heard Hot Rats most times, and later on perhaps Joes Garage act 1.

this is not a topic facing the "best" album, couse that isn't really appropriate... although it's iinteresting to hear whay you think it's the one you have heard the most (if thats a possibly).
In my case Hot Rats was simply the first i picked up, and i have always listened to it.

My first Zappa record was the first Zappa record - Freak Out! My uncle Mark gave it to me. It was well worn when I got it and I played it continuously for any of my friends I could get to listen to it. I still have it but I'm sure it is unplayable.

Probably a toss-up between 'Zappa in New York' and 'Shut Up 'N' Play Yer Guitar'.

A composer is a guy who goes around forcing his will on unsuspecting air molecules, often with the assistance of unsuspecting musicians.

Uncle Meat is the all-time most listened to album for me, and then Bongo Fury just recently. Debra Kadabra has recently been a favorite song of mine. Since I found the lyrics. Never understood it. Still a little mysterious although it's obviously a Beefheart love song with references to dancing.

As soon as I get into a band or musician, I pretty soon make my own compilation and tend to leave the original LPs/CDs in the stacks. Same with Zappa. I had tons of FZ mix cassettes. But since there always was lots of Uncle Meat and Weasels Ripped My Flesh material on those, I assume it's probably those two, when it comes to listening to the complete LPs.

By the way, it's now interesting for me to see how collecting live Zappa has changed my perspective: Based on listening to concert recordings, the 60s Mothers really lost attractiveness for me meanwhile (in contrast to what I said above).

The present day stattewäbchen refuses to compose.

You Are What You Is.

I was still in school when this came out, and surrounded by Beautiful Guys and Old Ladies from the Society Pages. It was a personal vindication.

Thanks Frank!

It's probably 'You Are What You Is' - I often listen to it with my kids - they love Goblin Girl!

One Size Fits All

Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid ~ F.Z.
