Surround Sound details:
The front left and right channels are the mono soundboard mix from the original video. The rear channels are stereo and were derived from a stereo audience recording. The subwoofer channel is derived from the mono soundboard recording. There is no center channel track.

Authoring and animation by unicrayon for Zappateers.

Frank Zappa's Band, September - December 1980:
FZ, Ike Willis, Steve Vai, Ray White, Arthur Barrow, Vinnie Colaiuta, Tommy Mars, Bob Harris #2
Special Guest: Jimmy Carl Black

1. Harder Than Your Husband
2. Bamboozled By Love

John Cline's Notes:
Perhaps some background is in order... Jimmy Carl Black was living in Albuquerque at the time and was a friend of mine, he was going to perform "Harder Than Your Husband" with Frank at the October 12, 1980 show. We asked Frank if Jimmy's performance could be videotaped and he said, "yes." He also authorized an audio feed from the front of house mixer. The video was shot on 3/4" videotape using a professional "portable" three-tube RCA camera. These two songs are the only video that exists of this show. Frank had his own cameras there and the entire show may exist in his archives, but has never been released in any form.

unicrayon's notes:
Usual stuff, animations and scary moments. Techy stuff was making every piece twice in native formats, one for PAL, one for NTSC and two audio track choices.

Audience recording available here:
1980 10 12 Albuquerque NM 122.28 Aud MC (Yojimbo) - ZTLS#267

This is the NTSC version of the high quality footage, the high quality PAL version will follow when this is seeding.

One minor correction to the 5.1 surround sound audio specs:

The front left and right channels are the mono soundboard mix from the original video. The rear channels are stereo and were derived from a stereo audience recording. The subwoofer channel is derived from the mono soundboard recording. There is no center channel track.

Wunderull, nothing can stop Unicrayon bravo

Not sure why also a PAL version though. hmm
As far as I know every DVD player here (Europe, PAL's native country) plays NTSC as well, with absolutly no problems.

Cheers Desaab Smile

It was John's suggestion as he'd already made the conversion and ProCoder is a professional converter..... maybe it was unnecessary but it's nice to have it as a native preservation release.

I'm talking about stand alone DVD-players. And talking about regions, does region free DVD players for computers exist? When I played a region 1 record I had to change from 2 to 1. And I can do that only 4 times, then I'm stuck..
