Another small correction about...

Quote:
Friendly Little Finger (basic tracks)
1975 10 26 Hempstead, NY - not currently available on the tracker

Well, in The Guitar World According To Frank Zappa cassette liner notes for "Friendly Little Finger" Zappa mentions that the basic tracks were recorded "in a rather wet-sounding dressing room, warming up before a concert at Hofstra University on Long Island." Which means the basic tracks come from the soundcheck, not from the concert itself.

I've just saw this database now. Very cool, thanks guys.

And for my little contribution:
The very beginning of YCDTOSA5, before Easy Meat starts, is from 1982 05 29 Frejus.

Hmm, I thought I recognized that bit from the Geneva tape.

EDIT: No, my Geneva tape cuts into Mammy Anthem just before the solo. My Frejus tape also is missing the opening tuning which I see the Zappateers seed has.

Hey, thanks zachy. That's certainly an odd little edit for FZ to squeeze in there, but it's definitely a few seconds of the Frejus tune-up. I'll add that to the list.

I can only add that 1988 04 16 Brighton, UK (Zoot Allures in TBBYNHIYL) is now available on the tracker.

You are great!

Very cool resource Frank. Nice work. Here's another correction for you:

Yellow Snow Suite on 'One Shot Deal' & Father O'Blivion on YCDTOSA #6 have now been determined to be from Sydney 6/25/73 show.

Hey guys Smile

For the album "Chunga's Revenge" is only one live credit listed ("The Nancy & Mary Music" - 1970 07 05 Minneapolis - no recording of this show circulates)

But...what about "Road Ladies"?

Chris

Thanks for your reply. I am a little in disbelief here...but I trust you Very Happy ... doesn't sound like a non-live recording IMO...

While the previous version listed all available sources for each date, in the updated version I am listing one source per date, as otherwise the pages will be huge with all of the multiple sources we have now, particularly for 1988 shows. This is not to suggest that the other sources aren't worth hearing (although I have tried to pick the best-sounding source).

Good job. If you want to be more specific with "Ahead of Their Time", here's the sources for every track:

1. Prologue (late)
2. Progress? (late)
3. Like it Or Not (late)
4. The Jimmy Carl Black Philosophy Lesson (late)
5. Holding The Group Back (late, cuts into early)
6. Holiday in Berlin (early)
7. The Rejected Mexican Pope Leaves The Stage (early)
8. Undaunted, The Band Plays On (early + late)
9. Agency Man (early)
10. Epilogue (early + late, cuts into improvisations from the second part of the early show)
11. King Kong (song: early; ending cuts into late near the end)
12. Help, I'm a Rock (late)
13. Transylvania Boogie (song: late; ending drum solo: early from Mr. Green Genes)
14. Pound For A Brown (early)
15. Sleeping in a Jar (early)
16. Let's Make The Water Turn Black (late)
17. Harry, You're A Beast (late)
18. The Orange County Lumber Truck (Part I) (late)
19. Oh No (late)
20. The Orange County Lumber Truck (Part II) (late)

If you wish, you could also add that the second part of "The Orange County Lumber Truck" on WRMF comes from the Royal Albert Hall 1968 late show.

cheers
