To take it in yet another direction, I'd love to see as many of the live sources of official releases as possible, regardless of sound quality - context is everything, y'know.

That said, I'll be more than happy with whatever you decide to do.

1967 - Ride For Your Life soundtrack

What is this?

My personal feeling is that while the "never seen C" recordings should be done eventually, they're not really a priority for me and in all honesty I probably wouldn't actually download any of them Smile. Rarely seen B recordings would be my preference.

Not sure it's really kosher here, though.

or should I broaden my scope and look for better sounding tapes that are "only seen as lossy"?

Yes! Yes!

Yes, please!

I personally prefer a "lossy" but okay-sounding show over a non-lossy C-type thing, especially if the compression is done well enough that I can learn about the "lossy status" only by doing a spectral analysis (or in rare moments through a weird timbre in the applause between encores).

Although heavily noise reduced shows are C-types for me per se. I prefer listening to distortion and hiss and boomy muffled music anytime before having an ugly noise reduced warbling-fest.

Oh well... a matter of (dis)taste...

.

Regarding this:
1973 08 18 KÝbenhavn, Denmark
- you mean you would seed the 90 NR version? Or the 130 min, B?
If my listing is correct, I seem to have a 115 min B-/C+ version of this.

The Mothers recording a Boards of Canada soundtrack? Smile Awesome! Would love to hear that, if at all possible.

To clarify, I'm not going to provide any lossy recordings. What I would do is rip my tapes of the shows of which all circulating digital versions are lossy (including NR'ed).
I won't move into C-territory yet. After the "better than B-" tapes in the never-seen list, I'll probably broaden my scopes with "never seen as lossless" shows of which I have good copies. And thanks Ferval Lankman for reminding me about the live sources of official releases!

I misunderstood.

Oh well... I'm still kinda stuck in that 2nd/3rd/4th/...-hand-CDR-trading-perspective, while most action here ideally is about doing new transfers of show recordings as close as possible to the optimum quality, as I slowly figure.
- if possible, the real shit.

.

So as I see more clearly now, I can say any show-upgrade of data-integrity would be great, yes!

Good idea - this is an awesome show with some sick FZ soloing, which despite the so-so sound quality, really comes through good on this tape. I'm writing it down high on my to-be-transferred list.

Greetings Zappateers,
I have long been searching for my favorite FZ show I attended: Nov. 9. 1974, early show, at the Boston Music Hall.
I understand from Unicrayon that this is an infrequently circulating show, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
As a second choice, I would accept the late show.....
Thanks for any help with this.
Hopefully I would have something returnable!
Thanks,
Anglomuse

Like all the Dick Barber tapes, both shows are very well circulated among tape traders. For some reason, they haven't found their way to Zappateers, something that we should try to change.
