From FZShows:

25-Sep 1984, Hammersmith Odeon, London, England

100 min, FM, B+
Broadcast on French radio.

Zoot Allures (parts on DHBIM?), More Trouble Every Day (solo on DHBIM?), Penguin In Bondage, Hot Plate Heaven At The Green Hotel, In France, The Evil Prince, Teenage Wind, Truck Driver Divorce, He's So Gay, Bobby Brown, Keep It Greasey, Honey Don't You Want A Man Like Me?, Sharleena, Let's Move To Cleveland, Ride My Face To Chicago, Baby Take Your Teeth Out, The Illinois Enema Bandit, Chana In The Bushwop, Whippin' Post

Lineage, source A: FM/AM? Tape (Maxell XLII, unknown gen)->Denon DRM-800A->Creative SB Live->SoundForge (editing, speed correction, normalizing, tracking)->FLAC Frontend

Lineage source B: FM/AM? Tape (TDK SA, unknown gen)->Denon DRM-800A->Creative SB Live->SoundForge (speed correction, normalizing, x-fading onto source A)

A rather low-fi recording of a radio broadcast, possibly AM. The three first encore numbers seem to have been left out; The Closer You Are, Johnny Darling and No No Cherry, which were played before Ride My Face To Chicago. There are some minor interruptions by an announcer, with very little or no music missing, and I decided to make this Warts ‘N All, without editing these out. Nor did I use fills from the audience recording to for the tape flip or the missing songs. The audience version has been up in Samples, and once we get it seeded, we might consider making some kind of combined version.
The last 6 minutes are taken from a tape I got from another trader.

01 Zoot Allures
02 More Trouble Every Day
03 Penguin In Bondage
04 Hot Plate Heaven At The Green Hotel (added crowd noise at the end->radio announcer->cut)
05 In France (a few notes at the start missing)
06 The Evil Prince
07 Teenage Wind
08 Truck Driver Divorce
09 He's So Gay
10 Bobby Brown
11 Keep It Greasey (fades, end missing due to tape flip)
12 Honey Don't You Want A Man Like Me? (fades in, very beginning missing, added crowd noise at the end->cut->radio announcer)
13 Sharleena
14 Let's Move To Cleveland
15 Ride My Face To Chicago
16 Baby Take Your Teeth Out
17 The Illinois Enema Bandit
18 Chana In The Bushwop
19 Whippin' Post (x-fades to source B @ 1:00-1:05, minor gap @ 3:14)
20 radio station outro

Kinda shocking to see you with that new avatar, Jon, if I think of your nickname the first thing that comes to my mind is your old avatar.

Thanks a lot for this show! This should be good stuff!!!

Yeah, with all the tough competition in the Samples section lately, I thought I'd better put on a good fighting face. dancingnaughty Laughing

I like it. That actor was really good. And I'm not one to watch that kind of stuff, but Shogun and a few other things I caught were great performances. I now know what a Yojimbo is!
I also sort of have a connection to this culture. My dad lived in Japan for about 3 years, not by choice, but by gun point. So yeah a connection.

The actor on yojimbo's avatar is Toshiro Mifune. He was actually Kurosawa's favorite actor. I saw the guy in many japanese films as i'm a cinema student here in Argentina. He often play the role of a serious but lusty man ( "throne of blood", "Yojimbo", "Rashomon").

Maybe our guy in Gothenburg is just like that...

(mmm... i'm seriously thinking in having Mr T for avatar)

I pity the fool....
