Most of us know celebs like Czech Pres. Havel, Matt (D'oh!) Groening, @ Billy Bob (How do I taste, Brad?) Thorton love Frank.
Al (Sy)-Gore CLAIMS to be a fan, but I'm sure Tipper would use Frank's albums for target practice if Al actually owned one!
I saw actor Eric Bogosian grooving @ a ZPZ show this past Halloween.
Maybe you caught that horrible bio about FZ on YouTube with Cory (I'm with Cory) Haim and Pamela (I'm with the band) Des Barres.

But there must be more and I want to know!

Rutger Hauer: "Zapppppppa o man he is/was/4ever will be. Love him/his stuff".

In June 2000 Rutger was at the 200 Motels & Suites event played by the 'Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest' in Carré Amsterdam. I read somewhere that Gail even asked Rutger to perform on that 200 Motels event. Instead of performing he was sitting one row in front of me enjoying the show. The Zappa's and Hauers were neighbors.

Jan Akkerman is a big fan. I met him a few months ago and of course I brought up the subject. The band made some jokes about his soloing on one chord and Jan told me he used some FZ guitar licks in Focus. He also told about his first FZ concert in 67 or 68 in the 'Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. I send him a copy of the '68 stage recording.

Bogosian actually did a tape with Zappa in the '80s. "Collaboration" might be overstating it, but Zappa did provide some synclavier tapes to use as backing for his monologues.

Thanks everyone!

Some seem right on:
Gilliam (would have been great for Terry/Frank collaboration!)
Mighty Boosh
Hauer (interesting quote & story)
Connelly

Some surprises:
Jacques Delors (should of run for President)
Murphy(older sibling/friend must of turned him on to FZ)

I would love to view Bogosian monologues with Frank's music!
Think I'll check YouTube today.

Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull said several times he loves Frank Zappa's music. Yngwie Malmsteen, when Zappa died, said that Zappa's death was a great loss. Allan Holdsworth was friend with Zappa, and appreciated his music. Steve Lukhater loves Frank Zappa, and his favourite works are "Thing Fish" and "Beat The Boots", he even tried to join Zappa's band in 1976, but without success. Michael Romeo of Symphony X, said he loves Zappa's works, "Joe's Garage" and "Thing Fish" above all. Mike Portnoy is a progressive fan and loves even Zappa: he dedicated the Dream Theater album Awake to Frank Zappa (1994). All members of Deep Purple are Zappa fans, expecially Roger Glover.
There are many others, but this are the first that came in my mind!

cheers

If you look on the back of the Maroon 5 Live album, you'll see, I presume, one of the band members wearing a Zappa t-shirt. Not a celeb, but hey.

Didn't the guitar-player for Red Hot Chili Peppers - can't remember the name - audition for Zappa's 1988 tour? I gathered he could play all Zappa's material but lost to Keneally because of his extra keyboard chops.
