this OXFORD University/ ASTRA ZENNECA vaccine looks promising, Lets hope it works and can be distributed worldwide ASAP. There is a lot of international cooperation on this (excluding TRUMPTOWN and XiCITY) perhaps an indication of the future new normal.
Sad to see the UK and the USA vying for the top spot in COVID deaths per million of the population with Belgium...

Well done all. We are zooming up the charts: now Team Zappateers is 24,805th out of 252,717.

Done.
Here's hoping it helps get a result sooner rather than later.
Must be doing something because my laptop fan just started and it usually only does that when there's a lot of graphics going on.
Keep safe everyone.
Don't know about bleach but surgical spirit with a dash of lime juice seems to be working for me. Cheap too. Barf me out! Murder in the morning though. Still, don't have any work to go to so wtf.

No worries. Stuff like Folding@Home is based on distributed computing, which can be really CPU-intensive. You have probably seen that you can set the "Folding power" to Light (in the FAHControl software or on the webpage https://client.foldingathome.org/) if your computer gets too slow.
I usually set the folding power to High before going to bed and to Light or Medium during work hours, depending on what I have to do on my laptop.

Just had a quick look at the stats and am a bit disappointed that so few zappateers signed up. Thought we could have managed a couple of hundred. Not like you have to do anything after the (extremely) simple set-up and I can't see any change in performance on all the other stuff I do. (He said hoping a few more people might hop on board).

Clearest explanation of the virus and how it works I've seen so far.
Makes me wonder how much more virulent the next one is going to be, given how this one is so much more virulent than the last one.

Good point Toggy and the truth is there will be another - like Dame Vera says don't know where, don't know when. Just hope that our (generally) fuckwit politicians can rise to the challenge (although I doubt it)

Anyone else had DNS issues after installing FAH? I'm using Win 8.1 and DNS randomly drops out - usually a reboot fixes, but three times now I've had to uninstall FAH (the only change made to my laptop recently). Today I've wasted an hour following all of the DNS troubleshooters advice - to no avail - uninstalled FAH and DNS straight back up again.

So I'll be cheering form the sidelines - no more folding for me.
