From FZ Shows:
1978 ?? ?? - WSOU, South Orange broadcast
40 min, FM,
Guitar solos from 1974-78.

...

This version: 37.25 min, FM, B+ (hissy, mono)

Tracklist:

01 WSOU Announcer [1:44]
02 Yo' Mama (1978 02 15 Berlin) [2:28]
03 A Pound For A Brown (1977 02 10 London) [4:03]
04 Zoot Allures (1976 02 01 Tokyo) [3:07]
05 Ship Ahoy (1976 02 03 Osaka) [SUNPYG] [5:35] drop out at 2:12; flaws in final part of track
06 Inca Roads (1974 09 25 Gothenburg w/O'Hearn overdubs) [3:23]
07 Trouble Every Day (1974 09 25 Gothenburg w/O'Hearn overdubs) [5:08]
08 Pink Napkins (1977 02 17 London) [SUNPYG] [4:04]
09 RDNZL (1974 10 03 Marseille) [4:06]
10 My Guitar prelude (1977 02 16 London) [2:17]
11 Trouble Every Day (1974 10 01 Basel, Early) [Venusian Time Bandits, Q] [1:25]

Total time (this version) 37.25 min

Additional Notes (by pbuzby):

#1: completists only, not much FZ content
#5 and 8: released on SUNPYG
#6: O'Hearn overdub used on Rubber Shirt from Sheik Yerbouti, radio voiceover (0:14-0:36)
#11: released as venusian Time Bandits on QuAUDIOPHILIAc

For reasons unknown, FZ decided to give this New Jersey radio station a SUAPYG prequel - same format (guitar solos linked by dialogue and sound effects), but entirely from the pre-Vinnie years.
FZ used only two solos on SUAPYG, with one sneaking out on a recent posthumous release, so this seed should be of much interest despite some minor quality flaws.
Track 6 (with O'Hearn's bass "answering" FZ's 1974 solo rather than interacting with Bozzio's drums as it does on Rubber Shirt) is especially fascinating.

Thanks to Flambay for preparing this and also identifying the two previously undated solos.

I had wondered if these tracks (particularly "Venusian Time Bandits") might have been intentionally sped up by FZ. Without having any solid info, though, it makes sense to present all tracks at concert pitch.

I can't check this new seed (nor the old one) because of the sound issues which still affect my computer. But judging from the SC summary it really seems that those last two tracks were intended to be at higher-than-concert pitch. Maybe a comparison with the old seed or with the soon-to-come DZ further version could help? If the pitch is correct or at least constant in one of those versions, we could realize the one which should be set up here, maybe even for track 01 (oh yes, I am a speed freak Smile ).

Is the 2nd source going to be an upgrade or is this one the best of the 2?

I posted in the Shoebox thread that I believe the 2nd source is an upgrade, although only a slight one. It would need speed checking before being posted here.
