My record player is our entertainment room and I play maybe one LP there a week. I looked at the total time of the six sides and it runs quite a bit over 80 min. I made some transfers of the sides but it looks like I will just have to choose two sides of the first 4 and then sides 5 and 6 to play it on a CDR. probably side 1, 2, 5 and 6. I did put all 6 sides on an iPod play list but my car is so old it does not play iPods.

I looked at Audacity but it was too much work. Most of my burned CDs will be tossed anyway within15-20 years.

I do convert a lot of my old LPs to some CD type of list, usually two Lps to a CD, but my software is so simple that the volume always comes out low. I would not play the LPs much, I just put the burned CD with the actual CDs of the same band. The ones I made in the 90s still play, it was an audio burner with the 74 min blanks. Now I use Ion's EZ converter. It works, I just don't know if the volume can be adjusted. Anyway, I can only have LP tracks on a disc so they are all the same volume.

Does it say 23 or 112 on the spine?

If 23, is «Official Release #112» mentioned anywhere in the liner notes/small print at all?

If not, this vinyl release officially classifies as an expanded version of the original album (#23), while the five CD set is a new original audio documentary album in its own right (#112). Cf. MOFO, Lumpy Money, Greasy Love Songs, Crux Of The Biscuit and Meat Light, but this time without the project/object tag.

You can open the file in any WAV editing program, auto-normalize the levels and save. It's very simple.

Yes.

This LP says "23" on the spine and "#23" in the liner notes.
Ths is an expanded version of the original official 1978 LP.

The 5-CD Boxset says "112" on the spine and "#112" in the liner notes.
IMO it's indeed "Project/Object - Zappa In New York", but without the qoute.

On the other hand, all previous Project/Objects have not only said "Project/Object" but also had a new title, distinct from the title of the original album.

I ordered the 3LP/T-Shirt bundle on 3/22, it arrived a week and a half or so after the release date (I wanna say Thu 4/4 or Fri 4/5). The next day, when I had a chance to play it, I noticed UNMISSABLE defects on BOTH SIDES 3 & 4 of Record 2. I played it on a friend's turntable and even the display turntable at my local record store, using one of their vinyl care kits the second time around. There were no visible defects, and it didn't exactly skip, but it was an undeniable error in the pressing, almost as if portions of the recording were just missing during "Honey, Don't You Want a Man Like Me?" and "The Purple Lagoon"

I sent an email the customer service and they VERY QUICKLY responded with apologies and confirmation that a replacement Record 2 was being shipped to my door. It is still in transit, but I gotta give props to their team for a timely response; I was expecting to have to send the record back, wait for them to confirm the defect, blah blah blah...

On the plus side, BOTH sides of BOTH other records play FINE and sound GREAT. Using the solo piano versions "The Black Page" is a lovely touch.

Yes, actually, I received the record a few days ago, and am actually still awaiting a second chance to listen, I only had time to listen to ONE of the TWO sides, and so far so good. There unfortunately hasn't been enough down time around the house as of late to get a focused listening session in.

Yes, but there were only three so called "Project/Objects" before, right?
"The MOFO Project/Object"
"The Lumpy Money Project/Object"
"The Crux Of The Biscuit Project/Objekt"

And some other unqouted like:
"Roxy By Proxy"
"The Roxy Performances"
"Zappa In New York - 40th Anniversary"

Maybe:
"Lumpy Gravy Primordial (Vinyl only)
"Absolutely Free" (2-Vinyl only)
"Rollo" (Vinyl only)

And even the CD release of "Greasy Love Songs" I would count in too.

Are there more?

So a current "official" list would be look like this?

1. "The MOFO - Project/Object", 2006
2. "The Lumpy Money - Project/Object", 2008
3. "Greasy Love Songs - Project/Object", 2010
4. "The Crux Of The Biscuit - Project/Object", 2016
5. "Meat Light - Project/Object", 2016

It's odds-on we'll get some kind of Hot Rats P/O later this year and I would LOVE any sort of Zoot Allures/Sleep Dirt one... (2 of my favourite 61 albums...)
