Carnegie Hall

Totally groovin' on this. Working on a time travel device so that I can finally check out this band in the flesh.
Forget drowning infant Adolph, I want to sit in the audience for this line up.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer - ... Welcome Back My Friends / 40th Anniversary Reunion Concert / High Voltage Festival 25th July 2010 (Blu-Ray)

These 3 amazing musicians were aged in 2010 and one can see it: Keith goes wrong often, Greg's voice is not as celestial as it used to be and Carl is heavier on the drum-set.
Yet, the magic is there thanks to the music which still today strikes me as totally unique in many ways.

Now that Keith and Greg are gone forever, it's sad to watch and watch again this concert. But a necessary tribute by a die-hard fan.

Listened to the first three Osibisa albums this week -- Osibisa, Woyaya, and Heads. Also Trace by Son Volt, and Sonny Stitt meets Brother Jack, which sounds more like a Sonny Stitt date than Jack McDuff. Stitt, however, sounds less like Charlie Parker and more like himself, which is rare.

I listened to Pet Sounds in the truck today. I can't get sick of that record, I don't think.

LSO Vol. I & II

Already planning to hit repeat for the stuff that sailed by me.
And why isn't Sad Jane tackled by more orchs? Seems like a real crowd-pleaser to me.

Sticky Fingers and Exile. Twice each. And some early Poco, when they sounded convincing.

I am just about to cue up Dick Dale's Tribal Thunder album.

The only time I ever got 86'd was at a Dick Dale show. Ten dollar cover, which was a big cover! I was 18 and it wasn't an all ages show. The doorman lets me in, Dick starts playing, two songs later the bouncer IDs me. Nobody told the doorman the age thing! They apologized and let me listen from outside on the sidewalk patio. I remember he started off the show on a wireless rig and was walking around the floor of the bar by the stage, getting kisses from women. Damn!.

Thanks,
