Wowie zowie, this is a nice present.
The euro 1982 tour is one of my favourites, the italian leg is one of the best parts of the whole tour, and the Milano show in turn is one of the best from that particular part of the tour. Up there with the Bolzano and Pistoia gigs.
In a 'normal venue', Zappa would end the show after 2 warnings, but he finished this gig despite 3 interruptions.
Love the moment when Ray White starts singing Volare.

I am actually quite puzzled that this show was rated so low on FZShows as this was always an excellent tape. This seems to be a common thing among the Italian leg, which is mostly rated as B+ tapes: most of them are in the A range to me, but I digress.

There's no way that the Italian shows on the tracker are anywhere close to "A" quality. It would be generous to even call them an "A-".

Pistoia is the best of the lot, and it's not even a stereo recording.

Your mileage may vary, I suppose: they are unprofessional recordings after all. Personally I find them a great listening experience between the tone of the recording and the ambience, definitely among the best sounding tapes of the tour: perhaps not all of them (if I remember correctly Torino and Napoli are around B+) but definitely most of them. Maybe "As" are off the mark but I would say A- is appropriate for most of them. After listening to this particular seed again I would still rate it A/A-

cheers

Thank you very much Galeans.

Just one small remark: in the accompanying text it says that there are no patches available for the tape flips. But I found at least a patch for 'Tell Me You Love Me' on the bootleg available on zappateers:

http://www.zappateers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=15871

I patched my version and it works perfect!

I don't know about the tape flip in 'King Kong': that's a bit complicated for me.

Thanks again for the update!

Italy 1982 was something special. Thanks for a new and improved show from this era.

I would say this Milan tape is a weak "A-". Nowhere near an "A".

Though you can hear everything clearly and there is a nice stereo image, the fidelity isn't fantastic like most of the "A" quality tapes on the tracker.

There are also a lot of people near the taper who won't shut their fucking mouths, which I find highly distracting.

My copy of the Milan show that I had until now (which is an age-old copy from a boot CD, not obtained from Zappateers), I have rated as A-.
The Pistoia and Bolzano shows I have both rated as A- to B+
