Our friend Dieter at Zappanale / Arf would also like the four US versions.

Anyone in the USA able to helpout?

Thanks, but that was more supposed to be a joke. Wink

It would probably be very difficult for Europeans to get in touch with all 4 versions.
In the US, these are also bought at random, which makes it even more difficult.
With 4,000 pieces, the edition is also quite small. I think I better should save all this effort.

But if they are offered to me, I probably would not say no.

Nevertheless, it remains a strange marketing decision. 4 different editions is OK,
but why not for all markets?

BTW, 4,000 pieces in total, or is there for US, UK & Europe different quantities?

Well Deiter is serious!
Sounds like a tough ask though.

What do they mean by official release #4M? For some reason I can't figure it out.

I'm also a big fan of cover artwork. And it always hurts to see if cover artwork is defaced - for completely unnecessary reasons.

The latest example is this new UMe Mono LP Picture Disc.

For some unexplainable reason, this front cover design was somehow repositioned so that the original artwork was cropped.
This, for example, split Tom Wilson's face in the middle (at the spine area) - probably the most striking difference to other editions.

At least that's what the European UMe Mono version looks like.

To the picture in the appendix:
For better visualization: below lies the cover of the regular UMe Stereo LP version - and on top of it lies the new UMe Mono LP Picture Disc version.

The cover of the regular version was already cropped, but this new Mono version makes it absurd.

The US version seems to be ok.

Of course you have the same problem, since it concerns the complete EU edition. Wink

Normally, the basic layout is supplied by the design department. With the exception of some
market-specific text information (US or EU), this must necessarily be printed 1:1.

What I do not understand is that Universal EU also has separate control over the basic layout.

Yeah, you're right
Comparing this picture to the one on the front cover of the 2016 EU vinyl release, it seems that now the picture was printed larger (not kept 1:1 and shifted to the left). Also sharpness and colours look a bit different.
Do you know if these 2 EU editions were printed in the same plant?

I only know that the records are pressed at Pallas Group in Germany - like all the other ones (US and EU).

However, I can not say which printer prints the covers. But I would have assumed that they would have
used the regular artwork templates - but obviously not here. The back cover is also cropped.

I wish it had gone better, but that's the way it is.

Interesting is also that this gatefold cover this time has two open pockets: in one is the record and in the other
the inlay. And the inlay was, unlike the regular edition, this time printed on heavy paper.

My copy (u.s.) only has one open pocket. Could have had two, but the front pocket was glued shut, lp and insert in back pocket.
