This Tull setlist page mentions some of the dates with Beefheart. It also mentions that a short time later the Eagles opened for Tull and were not well received either (add this to the short list of things the Eagles and Beefheart have in common).

Thanks. That Tull site is rough on the eyes. CB definitely opened at The Spectrum in Philly, maybe the Halloween '72 show? No confirmation on the site tho'. Thanks again.

I just read that he is playing Trout Mask as a regular before the shows. I will know tonight when I see Ian from the second row in Tulsa, well Catoosa, Oklahoma! Go figure that one out!!

Heard some Zappa and Beefheart before the Ian Anderson show at Ravinia in Chicago last summer. I believe that the crossword in Thick As A Brick has a reference to The Magic Band.

It has a reference to Beefheart and "Willie The Pimp."
