Listened to part 1. Worth the time, I didn't learn anything new but it was interesting to hear another opinion.

I listened into all three episodes but always had to break off at some point. For some reason I couldn't stand it. Was it the unqualified babbling or the superfluous background music or is it just me (I also can't listen to those ZAPPACAST episodes with Ahmet, sorry)?

I like this podcast. The only thing I would change, and I know this probably wouldn't work, is to have a long time FZ fan on to discuss how they feel about the albums he's talking about. A conversation between someone who has heard, say, 'Sheik Yerbouti' only a few times and someone who has heard it MANY times would be interesting.

I like it. I think it's a good way to discover FZ. Congrats to that guy.

I've enjoyed it so far. He definitely was running out of steam around Roxy to Zoot Allures though. I find it fascinating to see how much his opinion differs from mine about most albums.

Thanks for listening, all!

One of the most interesting aspects of doing this podcast has been the assumptions by many that I was unfamiliar with FZ before this project. It’s true that I’d never listened to it as a “big song”, but I’ve had/been a huge fan of around 30 FZ LP’s for at least the last decade. For the project/object, I tried to listen with “new ears” - which apparently was all too convincing, hah!

I’ll be addressing this on episode 6, though. (I mostly use the site for the torrents, thanks for those!)

I totally agree with you on Any Kind Of Pain being cruelly underrated.
This is one of my Top 3 FZ songs (#1, probably)

Underrated? Yes.
Top 3 songs? No.

The same melody in the hands of Michael Jackson would have been a hit single imslow
