The Amazon digital download page offers a preview clip of Cosmik Debris from the first show. Has anyone gotten RDNZL thru their digital pre-order?

However for these complete gigs I would have preferred the USB-Stick.
Too many fade-out and fade-in if you use the CD media!

thanks- I thought that "Picquantique" was a live performance not a studio recording. I mean did the rest of the studio listed on this new box was a kind of warm-up for the Roxy performances (without audience) and/or did Zappa take opportunity of this amazing line-up of musicians do record some material for a potential studio album ? (by the way the design of this new USB stick looks far better than the poor drawing of the Halloween box set)
I know this belong to FZ official catalogue but because of the story/origin of the material (beat the bootleggers) I've never considered these CDs as Zappa "true" album...

For Kung Fu, best go to "The Lost Episodes". If I remember right, the track of the same name on "Piquatique" is a misnamed Eric Dolphy Memorial Barbecue.

In my mind, Roxy and Elsewhere partly is a studio album - in a similar way as Sheik Yerbouti: Live basic tracks, a load of overdubs, and maybe also replacements of whole parts? Cheepnis and Village of the Sun have zero live aura to my ears, same with the theme of Be-Bop Tango.

I admit I got out of touch a bit with the Roxy material, but maybe need to take out my old vinyl again, give it a spin, study all the details on the cover, and see if there's still some of the magic aura it had when I first held it in my hands. I remember I spent a lot of time with that one - maybe some of the thrill comes back then, wetting my appetite for this box in the appropriate way.

Really looking forward to this i loved seeing this band live, the last Mothers and real horns rather than keyboards. Shame Ian Underwood had gone by then. Frank played some great solos, incredible musicianship all round.

As far as I can tell none of the CDs end on a track that would immediately segue into another song. So yeah you will get a fade out of the audience and stage fiddling before the next track. Please use that time to breathe deeply and relax.

Disc 1 and 5 appears to end on the break before an encore.
Disc 2, 3 and 4 end on songs that don't segue into the following ones
Discs 6 and 7 finish with the Studio outtakes and the ”Sound Check/Film Shoot” (I’m assuming this is the invite only show) respectively.

I know it’s gonna be hard to deal with this...but we'll get through it together Rolling Eyes

Cool! So 2016 remixes, does that mean we don't get that dubious Roxy By Proxy/YCDTOSA 1 sound and whoever remixed that did undo FZ' 1980s heavily reverbed approach?

Re: Kung Fu was glued to Eric Dolphy on the Stock '73 boot. It's also heard in a much clearer sound quality with additional violin and synth instrumentation on the Road Tapes 2. Wonder what the "guitar overdub" on the Bolic sesh will sound like? Doubling Tom's bass? Some swampy feedback injection a la Road Tapes 2 version?

Re: Dinah Moe Humm, FZ somehow resisted that for a whole year. If I recall correctly, one of the Autumn '73 gigs features FZ prefacing the Pygmy Twylyte medley (or was it Dickie's?) with "Something newer than Dinah Moe Humm" in response to request for that. So July '74 was when he finally may have caved in. Of course we have no tapes with Jeff Simmons still holding over from the earlier '74 bands.
