I, too, really like the sound on the new Absolutely Free release. Just got mine yesterday. Was thinking to get the new Zoot Allures release, but the info sounds like it's a remaster, not a remix? I've got a good copy of the WB Palm Trees/Burbank label, so I'll probably pass on this one. Would be nice to have, but maybe don't really need it. Tough call.

So where did you get the AF vinyl? I haven't found any online shop, that has it, already.

It came out earlier in October in North America. Europe gets it 17 November.

Release date here was 10 November, I'm expecting my copy to arrive tomorrow.

I was wondering about the sound quality myself. I really want to pick this one up.

My version arrived safely today, but I'm too anal to listen to it at the moment. Embarassed

Front cover:
The overall cover printing looks very good and is pretty sharp. Compared to my original German
WEA copy the overall coloring is very lightish. The blue "ZAPPA" lettering is quite dark, so that the
thin black outline is hardly visible. The coloring of the "ZOOT ALLURES" lettering has a much
higher colour saturation.

Back cover:
Like on CD editions the japanese lettering, was set in red and shifted down under the shoes.
Noticed no text errors so far. Razz

Cover condition:
Only a few very little creases at the edge area. I guess many of you wouldn't complain about this,
because it seems that this is the normal case these days (and maybe was in the past). BTW, I
haven't a single ZFT album without these little creases somewhere at the edge area - even after
replacements.

Vinyl:
Looks very good, no blemishes noticed so far. Although one or two long burrs at the edge of the
vinyl were left, but I was able to strip it off.

That's all for now, more later ...

Any questions in the meantime?

It seems the torture never stops. roflol

But seriously..Ill have to check my Absolutly Free when I get home for similar creases. Though Im not totally sure what that means.

Little "creases", "chaps", "cracks" on the cover surface of the edge area - I think the technical term for this is "tear", right?

Um, well, ... I was speaking of the cover/artwork only, not of the sound. Wink
