1971-08-XX
Private FZ interview at FZ's home
by David Walley
author of the book "No Commercial Potential"

partially mentioned in FZshows as
1963-1970 - "The History And Collected Improvisations Of The Mothers Of Invention", excerpts.
50 min, B
Taped with a microphone at FZ's house. Much of the material was released in more or less identical forms
on The Lost Episodes (*), Mystery Disc (**) or Playground Psychotics (***).

A full version of this interview has already been seeded by honyak45 as part of the GSW Project (GSW Vol.6).

Here we have a slightly superior sounding version,
plus 1971 Pauley Pavilion portions (tracks 35>37)
which weren't included in the (T__) GSW version.

This copy: 102.07 min, Field recording, B

Lineage: unknown mics > ... > cassette > Nakamichi DR-10 > Terratec DMX6 Fire 24/96 soundcard >
Adobe Audition 1.5 > WAV > Flac Frontend encoding level 5 > FLAC > wav >
Soundforge 5: speed correction, tracking > FLAC FFE lvl7 w/SBA (638 MB)

My cassette has this too. But it belongs with Walley's interview with Pamela Zarubica. I can't remember if it's duplicated there or not.

After a listen-through of the 1971 Pamela Zarubica interview w.David Walley,
I don't believe hearing this Suzy Creamcheese snippet there.

In fact, during that whole recording she and David don't seem to be addressing the Suzy C. subject at all.

But, hearing this snippet here, and comparing its background noise to parts of the complete PZ/DW interview,
it may in fact be a "cutout" section of that one.

There is also a 1972 Martin Perlich interview with Pamela Zarubica, in which they are talking a lot about "Suzy Creamcheese" but sourcewise that one sounds completely different, no way imo this "track 42" snippet here could be taken from that one.

For those interested and wishing to find out for themselves:
the complete Pamela Zarubica Interviews, i.e.
1971 interview by David Walley (Field recording) &
1972 interview by Martin Perlich (FM source)
are now available here: http://www.zappateers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=13268

All of "Original Mothers At Fillmore East" as officially released on Mystery Disc is actually from 10/25/68 (early) London.

However, 0:46-2:07 of track 34 in this early version is not from the Royal Festival Hall show. Perhaps this part really is from the Fillmore East.

Anyone want to compare it with all the circulating recordings from the Fillmore East?

Is there a way to only download a couple tracks from this release? I'm only interested in tracks 32 - 34.
