Seems we have only uncovered one source for this show, Till Anderson recorded a copy, and I thought I had that version? Source one sounds about the best of all samples so far. Source two has a hum problem, probably picked up as interference when dubbing. I included it, as it is the only copy that has the very end. Source one has more then the two other examples, but still is incomplete. Source two also has more chatter and tune ups before Dynamo Humm. Compare to these samples posted already:

and

A mini-disc version that is around may have better sound, but may not be complete, as no copy appears to be so far. I believe source two is my first gen. Again with hum, so who the hell knows? It's the most complete version so far. So my first gen is flawed. Since one MD version is flawed, and the other unavailable, we may have no choice but to use one of these, so here she is.

I have a master->minidisc from TA, but no MD player. Anyone with a good setup for transferring MD who I can send this (and maybe my other MD's from Till) to?

at least try to find a person who can transfer MD via USB so as not to have to resort to another D/A -> A/D conversion, J.
btw i have a friend who can do it but having the MD travel that far would be silly _________________ ...and after this deadly review hits the paper...

I transferred via USB and it still was analog. I don't have access to a player anymore.
IMHO TA didn't record this, but said he did as a German who only spoke German actually did. I would not discount these versions sampled here.

I compared the two sources here with H-K samples and my own tape (no seeders on MrUMRK samples).
I have the same version as the H-K one.
The tf in Flakes in source one as sampled here has the most music, except for start B-side where the H-K version/ my CR tape has around 10 seconds more.
There's also more chatter/audience between Yo Mama and DMH in the H-K/CR version, I think around 1 minute more, I didn't check exactly.
And also around 6-8 seconds more at start tape in source two and the H-K/CR version.
Unfortunately same cut in Wild Love at my tape as in all versions.
I prefer the sound of the source one sampled here. Besides it's most complete.
It has to be filled at the end of Muffin Man from source two, and tf Flakes B-side begin 10 seconds from the H-K/CR version, and maybe the 6-8 seconds beginning from source two or H-K/CR version.
I think I prefer my tape above the H-K one for fills, mine sounds a bit more clear and matches better with source one imho.
I'll sample those parts so all of you can give your opinion.
How does the MrUMRK version compares with source one, source two and the H-K/CR version?
Which version is it anyway? And how is the sound? _________________ "And dream of guitar notes that would irritate."

I can seed it, best you decide. Hopefully we can check Yojimbo's version too.

It's the same version again and the sound is lower than all others
For Hoosac version, i've noticed a big phase problem, more than 30samples late between the two chanels, that make the sound too much in the left (or right, i don't remember)
But we will compare...
Drew source 1 is the best, no problem, except perhaps just the last sample , what do you think ?

So no need to check MrUMRK's than.

You're right, it seems to sound more muffled than the other samples.
Maybe include the entire MM from source two?

I checked my cassette version, which is from the same dub line as Drew's source two, i.e. with more at the beginning, before Dinah-Moe Humm and at the end, but much more missing around the tape flip. Sound is inferior on my tape. I won't be able to transfer my MD before next Friday, and after that, I'll be out of town for three weeks.

OK, this is where things start getting really confusing: are source 1 and 2 actually from the same master?! Listen to the crowd noise in sample one of both sets, especially the little mic thump at 04,575 (source 1) / 12,072 (source 2). It's hard to believe that they are the same given the big differences in sound - one is stereo, the other mono - and completeness.
My MD's from Till are almost identical to source 2 here, while my old tape (also the same source) seems to be stereo version, but inferior to your "source 1".

Unfortunately these MD's are lossy, cuts off at 16 kHz just like simple mp3's |
