Well, here we are, boys and girls: this is the best possible representation of this bad sounding tape. This is a slight upgrade to what has previously been on the tracker. Yojimbo, who provided the original cassette from which this seed has been culled, when he reviewed this show a while ago, described the sound quality of this tape as "painful" and that the C- rating was only due to the fact that the "grading system doesn't go farther down than that". Now, let's not be too drastic; throughout the review, he makes it appear like this tape is one big chunk of garbled mess where you can't even recognize what goes on or what track is being played but the truth is that, if you are used to poor sounding tapes, this is not worse than many of those. Still, this doesn't mean that this recording is exactly ear candy: it's muffled and distorted. So, this is, unfortunately, pretty much a completists only item. This version presented here is slightly better than the one that was pulled a few years ago: it's raw and no eq was applied, so at least it doesn't sound shrill compared to the previous seed.

It's a shame that the sound quality of this recording is poor because this is actually a pretty good show. There is quite a bit of soloing here and there and, especially, a very good version of "Farther Oblivion" that contains some very neat jamming. The presence of "Eat that Question" is, likewise, noteworthy, since it's not a number often performed in this tour (to tell the truth, pre-1988 versions of this song can all be considered rarities and seem to be cursed with either poor sound quality, cuts or both!). This version of "Inca Roads" is not bad either. If you are one of those iron eared collectors, much like yours truly, put on your headphones, throw away any distraction, concentrate purely on the music and you will actually enjoy this. I know it worked for me! Also, you gotta love the taper singing along with the "Dog Breath" theme!

Thanks to the unknown taper!
Thanks to Yojimbo, Duween and Amnesiavivace for providing the source material!
Thanks to BengoFury for a fresh rip of the tape!
Thanks to Flambay for speed correction!
Thanks to all who contributed in saving the Yojimbo collection!

Enjoy !!

Thanks a lot! MITB!

Everything in the universe is . . . is . . . is made of one element, which is a note, a single note. Atoms are really vibrations, you know, which are extensions of THE BIG NOTE, everything's one note

Poor sound or not, this show deserves to be back on the tracker. An interesting set list especially the order of the tracks and the absence of Dupree's Paradise.

Thanks for putting this one together quickly!

Kind regards,
