Oh. Wow. I was not expecting this. I've been critical (understatement) of many of Gail's actions and attitudes as head of the ZFT, but when I met her she was very friendly and generous. My deepest condolences to Dweezil, Moon, Ahmet, and Diva, and to the rest of her family and friends. Though I don't believe in an afterlife I like to think of the smiles on Gail and Frank's faces as they're finally reunited. R.I.P. Gail Zappa, and thanks for all the music.

Missed this sad news as I've been a bit pre-occupied since my father died the day before Gail. I think I can honestly say I know pretty much exactly how the Zappa family is feeling right now. Onwards and upwards is the only way to go. Celebrate her life and treasure your memories.

The Hendrix Experience Tour played the Brady a few years back, the tour with Dweezil, I emailed her and asked if she could help me get my 16 year old son in cause I couldn't get another ticket at the last minute.... It was in the morning the day of the show here, and I got a response from her saying if it was a ZappaPlays Zappa show she could, maybe next time! I thought that was rely cool. I go to the show , and after, Dweezil was in the lobby with his new CD and all, I walked up to him and said something like" hi, your mother says hello". He looked at me and said "Chris! Sorry we couldn't get your son in" and handed me his latest release, already signed with my name and all!

That is really kick ass

Very nice story, as Mr Seman's... Many nice words.

With her, a huge piece of Zappalogy dies...

requiescat in pace

Edit: My sincere condolences, TOGFIADO...

Sad news indeed. I gratefully had the opportunity to meet her in person 5 years ago. R.I.P.

So sorry about your father, TOGFIADO.

We should all presume that he's got lots of great music to enjoy, for all eternity, wherever he's gone to.....

RIP Gail.

We all appreciated the efforts over the last 20 years to bring more of Frank's work to the fans. More material released in 20 years than most bands release in 40! Incredible efforts and no doubt a labor of love.

My deepest sympathy and condolences for the whole family.

Kind regards,
Overnitefreak

She really started when Zappa records was created in 1979--- managing the business on the home front. Around 36 years of effort in the business, while running a household and raising kids.
