From this article:
http://afka.net/Articles/1977-12_The_Valley_News.htm

He recently completed a film called "Baby Snakes" and a new symphonic work called "Wooool" (spelled with slashes through the first and last o's, umlauts over the two middle o's, and a tilde over the L thus pronounced something like "Woh-ooo-oh-luh," but modern typesetting prohibits such reproduction here.)

"Wooool" is scored for a Mahler-sized orchestra: 60 strings, four flutes, piccolo, all other woodwinds four-deep, eight french horns, four trumpets, three trombones, bass tuba, six percussionists.

There are currently no plans to perform the piece, mostly because of the logistics involved. (Performance and recording of the Abnuceals [Emuukha] Electric Symphony Orchestra concert at UCLA two years ago cost about $200,000).

Anyone know what happened to this? imslow

In a previously seeded version of
1980 04 03 Stanford CA (currently available upgrade version)
you will find this note in the description text:
Quote:
...
We thought we had to make sure to include from the inferior source at least the possible (?) world 1980 premiere on-stage recording of that famous little eight note fragment (C-A-G#-G# A#-A-F#-F#),
strangely named "Wl" at a first stage, but later more widely known for its inclusion in "Mo'N' Herb's Vacation Part II and III" [LSO],
and heard here for the first time during the Tuning section of Track 00.
This little run has been quoted in several 1980 shows' FZ solos since.

In fact this 8 note line, then known as "Wl", can already be heard in several Jan-Feb 1978 shows during some of the "Sheik Yerbouti Tango" and "Torture" solos
(1978 Feb 17 Copenhagen, Feb 18 Gothenburg or Feb 19 Stockholm, for instance).

Check the Early 1978 Tour or Early 1980 Tour setlist entries in FZshows
for the "q: Mo'n Herb's Vacation" mentions included there.

Wow! Thanks Flambay! I love Mo & Herb's Vacation - at least the way it was mixed on the vinyl LSO Vol 1!

Wonder what the whole Wooool thing is about? I'm sure it has a significance to it. imslow

You can hear FZ pronounce the title several times during Titties & Beer, 10/20/77 (late) Boston.

No it doesn't - get familiar with Character Map (assuming your using windoze) and you'll find you can type almost anything....

All of the following (for example) are Arial characters

Or the Character Palette aka Character Viewer on a Mac. Available via the International System Preferences aka Language & Text System Preferences. But I think that may qualify as postmodern typography.

I strongly suspect that it was coined by FZ.
