Semi related...

I happened to get a record from the library by film composer David Raksin recently, and noticed that he mentioned in the liner notes that he had conducted some reading rehearsals of FZ's music prior to the sessions for this record (August 1975). This must have been prep for the Abnuceals concerts.

Here is an interview where Raksin mentions FZ's involvement in Raksin's album.

Specifically, Raksin writes, "Just before I left for London to record this music I conducted two reading rehearsals of several pieces for large orchestra by my friend Frank Zappa" (and continues from there with comments about exchanges they had about each other's music). Session dates for Raksin's album were August 18 to 22 1975.

Thanks.

So had to be about a month and something before the performance of the Abnuceals in Sept. 18 & 19.
