Hi everyone -

A friend is having some fun trying to figure out the best way to get his vinyl to his pc. He has a turntable... receiver... Sound blaster Audigy 2 card. I think he's using an RCA to 1/8 stereo plug on his card? Turntable -> Receiver -> Sound Card

Any advice is most appreciated. He really wants to mitigate interfence and signal loss of course. Smile

THanks!!

Or turntable directly in Audigy, WaveLab RECORD.
That works with a tape deck.

Audigy2 does have recording options too?

He could try Audacity... depending on the quality of his phono amp. Audacity has RIAA equalization curve available so he could record directly from the turntable.. I can't remember if this is installed with Audacity, or if it comes via a plugin

I picked up a convert turntable from ION some time ago http://www.ionaudio.com/store/category/turntables
and used the Audacity program with it. I was pretty happy with my rips considering the cost. Just stay away from the hiss reduction on Audacity (really fucks up the sound).

Didja get the $69 one? I've heard about these but never knew if they were decent or not. I guess this would a small recommendation for ION. Smile

I bought the ION iTTUSB USB TURNTABLE about 5 years ago, for around $80.00 dollars. Check the website above for upgrades. This is a budget recommedation. Very easy to use and I love the sound of vinyl (even in WAV format).
I believe BengoFury is the expert here on vinyl rips. You might want to PM him. Smile
