Lightnin's notes:
This is an interview conducted by a local Baltimore TV host. It was never aired and the footage was to be destroyed, because Frank would not sign any release papers for things talked about, some of which made the producers frightened. The raw footage was snuck out of the station and entrusted to me. I believe the time is right to unleash it.

unicrayon's notes:
Tidied up the video tape lines. Did some color corrections, mainly just to darken the darks and give a little more depth to the picture. Normalized the audio track, because it was pretty quiet throughout.
Added some Zappateers' branding and made the DVD.

Enjoy!

Lightnin' & unicrayon

This looks as though it will be quite interesting and I am looking forward to watching.

One thing comes to mind however; I can't imagine Frank not signing release papers but I don't think there would even be a need for a release. When someone does an interview it is owned by the interviewer or producer. I can understand a broadcaster becoming nervous about programs on censorship and not a airing the program. It happened to me.

Thanks for the rescue efforts and getting it here.

According to the person who gave it to me, Frank said something to the effect of, I don't sign anything. I do know some more details, but I've sworn to take them to my grave.

I'm glad to share this with you all. Thank you, Unicrayon for bringing it up to standards.

I'm happy you got it out here, and getting it branded always annoys the bootleggers Smile

Thanks I have yet to watch this, although what was said i find it disheartening that Frank would not stand behind his own words. Put's him a notch down in my book.

That wasn't how I interpreted it. I thought it was more like when FZ (an individual) refused to indemnify Warner Brothers (a corporation) regarding Zappa In New York.

It was more to the effect that the TV station wanted to absolve themselves from any legal ramifications of anything said. Like when you watch a DVD with comentary on it nowadays and it says" The Views expressed in this commentary and not nessessarly veiw veiws of (insert name of multination entertainment corporation here)......
This is before some lawer came up with that fantastic all purpose sentence, and the station didn't want to be sued for some thing Frank said.

Thanks uni! You cautioned us we might need to download this again in the shoebox thread. I found I could only watch a few seconds of the shoebox seed before it locked up. I'll learn one of these days.

I left a post regarding the interviewer in the shoebox; maybe should have posted here, but I was answering zeeker's question.

Thank You Lightnin'stoned
