Hi all,

recently I was really amazed when I listened again to "Keep It Greasey:
1975 12 26 Oakland CA 115.48 AUD 1st (Yojimbo-marcomat-Kristoftof-flambay) Fixed
http://www.zappateers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=18131

As everybody knows, Frank Zappa was an "Organizational Talent", and he always liked it to put out
stuff long before he was able to release it officially. So, it should be very interesting to find out when
a special piece appears for the first time, live or elsewhere, before it's official release.

Come on, I'm curious about it ... Wink

Pitty

OK, let's start with the track "Keep It Greasey"

First appeard: 19XX XX XX

Official Release: Joe's Garage, 1979 11 19 (Act II, Side Two, Track Two)

On YCDTOSA1, FZ claims that "Babbette" was written in 1970. It would be interesting to hear this version.

T'Mershi Duween, Kaiser Rolls, Stranded In The Jungle and Let's Move To Cleveland are other examples. LMTC was supposedly written in the 60's already (1968?), but we aren't aware of any performances before Dec. 1975.

The same gig where Keep It Greasey & Kaiser Rolls were performed the first time - according to the known information.

If you have the excellent Zappabase on your computer you can click on a song title and it'll tell you when it was first and last performed (and all the ocasions in between!)

Joe's Garage has many leftover songs. Others are "Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up" (recorded by Jeff Simmons in 1970), "Stick It Out" (performed in 1971), "Packard Goose" (performed in 1975), "A Little Green Rosetta" (recorded for Lather in 1974/5).
